Hi, I'm Ashley—the founder of Dark Horse Atelier.

What started as a lifelong love of horses eventually became an obsession with the details and matching sets from head to toe. I've always been drawn to creating cohesive, personalized looks for both horse and rider, and if I'm being honest, I've never met a matchy-matchy competition set I didn't love (well, Ok, there may have been this one set...).

​

Yanis, my majestic Friesian, has been the inspiration behind so much of this journey. He's my muse, my partner, and the reason I've spent countless hours searching for the perfect combinations of colors, styles, and finishing touches that bring a look together while still feeling authentic.

 

I'd also be remiss if I didn't credit a quote my mother told me - reminding me to just go out, have fun and enjoy these moments in the saddle- "It's not what you do, it's how you look when you do it"- which, to be honest, before Yanis understood a half-halt, our fashionable looks were the highlight of some of our rides!

Over the years, one of my greatest joys has been helping friends and members of my barn family create their own unique show-ring style. Whether it's coordinating tack and apparel, finding the perfect accent pieces, or refining the smallest details, I love seeing a vision come to life and the confidence that follows.

Dark Horse Atelier was created to share that passion with a wider equestrian community. Through personalized styling, thoughtful curation, and an eye for the details that make a lasting impression, my goal is to help every horse and rider pair feel polished, confident, and uniquely themselves.
